Media Coverage

Whether you’re a health professional seeking fresh perspectives or a journalist looking to share innovative stories from the frontline of care, this page is for you.

Wild-Ness Health is part of a growing movement to reimagine healthcare from the inside out. Rooted in the Scottish Highlands, with national reach, our work has been featured by the Royal College of GPs, the British Medical Association, and national media outlets. At the heart of it all is the personal story of our founder, Dr Kath Jones, whose own experiences in medicine led to the creation of Wild-Ness Health.

On this page, you’ll find:

  • An overview of our Roadmap for Sustainable Practice – a practical guide for clinicians ready to shift from surviving to thriving.
  • Our Six Steps to Transformative Consultations – a values-based framework that supports deeper, more effective clinical encounters.
  • The 12 Habits for Sustainable Practice – a set of commitments to help clinicians show up with presence, curiosity, and radical responsibility.
  • Links to recent press coverage and national recognition.

We invite media, researchers, and health professionals to explore these resources and see how our work is offering a hopeful, practical alternative to business-as-usual in healthcare.

Meet Our Founder

A little bit about Kath
Dr Kath Jones is an NHS GP, coach, and founder of Wild‑Ness Health. After facing burnout and her own health challenges, Kath began practising differently—focusing on mind‑body approaches, narrative medicine, and what really matters to patients.

In 2023, she became the first GP to take a permanent post at a rural Highland practice that had long relied on a revolving door of locums. The surgery—serving a remote community with high health needs—had been taken over by the health board after the collapse of the GMS partnership. Since then, it has grown into a thriving, values‑driven team of eleven committed GPs, all employed by the health board. Kath’s approach is now inspiring clinicians across the UK to practise more sustainably—without diplomas, certificates, or leaving the NHS.

Kath speaks regularly on relational care, burnout, and leading change in complex systems. Her work has been featured by the British Medical Association (BMA), Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), and NHS Education for Scotland (NES).

About Wild Ness Health

Wild‑Ness Health is a grassroots movement of health professionals, artists, and people with lived experience, united in reimagining healthcare. We focus on practical, whole-person approaches that fit seamlessly into real-world NHS settings.

Based in the Scottish Highlands and online, Wild‑Ness Health creates meaningful spaces—both in person and virtual—where health professionals can reflect, learn, and reconnect with what truly matters.

Our work includes:

  • The Sustainable Healer Conference (Inverness, March 2026)
  • Seasonal wellbeing retreats for health professionals
  • A growing online learning platform (the Wild‑Ness Collective)
  •  1:1 coaching for health professionals
  • Bespoke events and workshops tailored for teams and organisations

We champion low-cost, high-impact shifts that bring whole-person care into everyday NHS consultations—helping professionals do less but do what matters most.
